Performers on the CMM Wednesday Recital Series and the Live! At The Everson Series experience the grandeur of our Steinway D, a superb instrument which serves all of our concerts onstage at Hosmer Auditorium in the Everson Museum. Continuously kept in concert condition, this piano came to Civic Morning Musicals through master technician and tuner Bob Sharp after a backstage fire activated the building's sprinkler system, destroying our former venerable workhorse Steinway. The Central New York Association of Music Teachers also owns a share of the Steinway D, which affords many young students the opportunity to play a truly fine concert instrument. Civic Morning Musicals is also the proud owner of another superb piano, a Steinway B, which is the generous donation of Dr. Sidney Dana. Both pianos are meticulously maintained at all times.
We gratefully acknowledge Dr. Dana's donation of a Zuckerman harpsichord, given in conjunction with the Steinway B. The harpsichord was not housed at the Everson Museum because of lack of space, and as a result, rested silently in the living room of a CMM board member. The harpsichord has ultimately been given to the Park Central Presbyterian Church, where it has been restored and is enhancing the music of church services and concerts.
