JUNIOR PRO ART

"Young artists supporting young artists"

Junior Pro Art (JPA) is a program operated by CMM to nurture the artistic and personal development of young CNY students with a serious interest in pursuing musical careers.  The focus of JPA is the artistic process.  (See Objectives)

Students (typically 7th through 12th grade) meet once a month (see Meeting Dates and Topics) with professional musicians dedicated to mentoring them by providing information on a variety of topics essential for aspiring musicians.  These meetings are open to parents and the public, and provide feedback in a nurturing supportive, environment.

JPA is student-owned with student leadership working closely with interested parents, area musicians and CMM board members.  The objectives of JPA are designed to foster the students’ artistic and personal growth.

JPA Objectives

1. Foster the highest ideals in artistic performance.

2. Create a nurturing environment for young artists to explore and expand their personal artistic development.

3. Provide information, activities and personal experiences to enhance artistic development.

4. Support young artists in taking charge of their own artistic development by developing problem solving and life strategies.
