CIVIC MORNING MUSICALS

The Wednesday Recital Series

Wednesdays at 12:30PM, Hosmer Auditorium, EversonMuseum

NO ADMISSION FEE

This coming Wednesday, March 26, CMM is proud to present Greg Wood, cello and Sar-Shalom Strong, piano, in a program honoring “Slava” the great Russian cellist, Mstislav Rostropovich, at the anniversary of his birth. There is no icon in the cello world quite like Rostropovich, and it is wonderful and fitting that this tribute take place. What more appropriate piece of repertoire would they present than the D minor Sonata by Shostakovich, whose music speaks poignantly of life in the Russia that Rostopovich knew?

I’ve stated many times previously that the Wednesday Recital Series offers portions of the repertoire that are almost impossible to hear in Central New York. I will state that with emphasis now, considering these two wonderful musicians who are performing this great work. Stay tuned to WCNY to hear more about upcoming events of Civic Morning Musicals and our Wednesday Recital Series, publicized by the Post-Standard. Concerts are at 12:30pm, and are free of charge. Remember to make this wonderful experience, available every week at no cost, part of your Wednesday!
